Loss Prevention Specialist
Job Description

As the Loss Prevention Specialist, you will serve as the receptionist at the Bridgeport Campus and aid the LP department with administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:
- Answers main phone number, screens and routes calls appropriately.
- Greets, screens, and registers visitors. Contacts team members via phone to announce visitor(s) and provides guest badges as applicable.
- Responsible for visitors’ log during a building evacuation to ensure accurate headcount.
- For ECommerce inquiries, advises callers to visit the ShopGoodwill website to log their questions and concerns.
- Monitors the security gate (desktop screen) for employee parking lot and allows vehicles to enter once authorized. Visitors are to call reception to be let in except for the Greater Bridgeport Transit buses.
- At times, participants are picked up in the front lobby but other times the buses come in the back parking lot, receptionist assists with the coordination.
- Ensures incoming packages are routed to appropriate departments. Contacts the Transportation Director for assistance with boxes left unattended, to move them out of the lobby to the executive administration office until the recipient picks them up.
- Reviews CCTV system for evidence of theft, mishandling of company property and other security violations.
- Supervises the outside vendor guard staff ensuring adequate coverage.
- Perform other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Loss Prevention, Safety, and/or Law Enforcement experience
Preferred Qualifications & Training Experience
- The ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Experience using physical security equipment (i.e. CCTV, alarms, and access systems).
