Overview
Position Overview
At Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), the Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all facets of assigned projects from initiation through final payment. This role ensures hardware schedules, shop drawings, and contract requirements are executed accurately and efficiently while focusing on quality, cost control, delivery timelines, and customer satisfaction. The Project Manager plays a critical role in driving project success through technical expertise, strong communication, and effective problem-solving.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Lead the development and oversight of hardware schedules, ensuring alignment with project specifications, timelines, and contractual requirements
- Direct and review the preparation of shop drawings for wood doors and hollow metal systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with design intent
- Oversee interpretation of architectural specifications related to doors, frames, and hardware, providing guidance to internal teams and stakeholders
- Provide strategic input on project budgets, billing, and cost control, making discretionary decisions to support financial performance
- Train, mentor, and support Assistant Project Managers assigned to projects
- Provide technical oversight into the interpretation of architectural drawings, ensuring accurate identification of doors, frames, hardware requirements, and related specifications
- Review and approve submittals and manage change order processes, ensuring alignment with project scope and profitability objectives
- Monitor and ensure alignment of engineering and production activities with project scope, timelines, and quality standards
- Partner closely with Engineering and Operations teams to maintain schedules and implement revisions
- Provide support for manufacturing-related issues as needed
- Keep management informed of project status, risks, and key issues
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, contractors, and vendors
- Respond to technical and non-technical inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and ensure materials meet project specifications
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Project Management and corporate objectives
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Prior project management and technical experience in construction, doors, frames, or hardware industry preferred
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, specifications, and industry standards
- Experience with business development concepts is a plus
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and quality orientation
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering/software tools

The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on experience, qualifications, and work location within state. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
