This position works out of our Altavista, VA location in the Abbott Nutrition division. What You’ll Work On
Review nonconformances that may have potential impact to product quality, assuring that documents are compliant with Abbott site procedures, Division policies, applicable Regulations and industry standards.
Provide Quality guidance during Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective/Preventive Action (CAPA) determination processes.
Perform the Investigative Lead function for complex investigations involving Quality.
Assure Samplings, Destructions and Corrections are compliant with Abbott site procedures, Division policies and industry standards.
Manage Complaint, Surveillance, and Deviation sampling programs.
Responsible for review of batch corrections, samplings and rework.
Participate in, or lead, the completion of CAPA projects, assuring compliance, quality and timeliness of records.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams using various methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma root cause analysis/problem solving skills).
Support team in the delivery and oversight of CAPA training program.
Lead meetings and communications for CAPA updates, information, and concerns
Process requests, ensuring owners are assigned, and timely responses and approvals are provided in alignment with quality goals.
You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required – preferably in a Business, Science, Engineering, or Mathematical discipline.
4-6 years of Quality Assurance experience in a GMP industry, or 2-4 years in the CAPA Associate role.
Knowledge of Food Safety standards and requirements for Infant Formula and Medical Nutritional products.
Knowledge of Food processing technologies, laboratory methods and statistical applications.
Strong technical writing, problem solving and communication skills.
Able to communicate with all levels of disciplines, management and employees in multiple communication forums. Must be organized and able to self-prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
Must be able to manage multiple, high priority projects.

The base pay for this position is $78,000.00 – $156,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
