This position works out of our New Brighton, MN location in the Structural Heart division.

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis. Partners with Commercial functional teams to prepare financial plans and forecasts based on performance expectations. Gathers and publishes financial information related to historical, current and future performance. Performs financial analysis utilizing appropriate financial concepts and techniques. Recommends alternative courses of action.

What You’ll Work On

  • Partner with functional teams to develop detailed financial forecasts incorporating historic, trended and current business information. Perform variance analysis and identify key drivers in support of business decisions with comparisons to relevant benchmarks. 
  • Monitor functional and departmental spending versus budget by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports. Conduct regular financial reviews with business partners to explain financial performance and make recommendations aligned with overall strategy and financial commitments.
  • Prepare journal entries and assist in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level.
  • Prepare and distribute financial reports and packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance.
  • Perform financial analysis, as directed by management, and recommend alternatives courses of action by utilizing appropriate financial tools . (e.g. EVA, NPV analysis).
  • Evaluate new business opportunities, potential acquisitions, new products, tax planning and spending initiatives by modeling alternative financial scenarios (e.g. revenues, profitability etc).
  • Prepare sensitivity analysis impact on revenue, expenses and profitability by modeling changes in key variables (recommending appropriate course of action).
  • Develop and utilize sound financial processes.
  • Establishes and cultivates an extensive network of support to facilitate completion of assignments. Participates in the development of less experienced staff by setting an example, providing guidance, and offering counsel. May lead a project team. Participates in determining goals and objectives for projects. Influences middle management on technical or business solutions. May interact with vendors.
  • Plans and organizes non-routine tasks w/approval. Initiates or maintains work schedule. Establishes priorities of work assignments.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting innovative, practical methods to achieve problem resolution. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious delays and considerable expenditure of resources.
  • Works under minimal supervision. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in financial planning and analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience working with SAP in a business or financial environment
  • Medical device experience supporting business, finance, or functional teams
  • Power BI experience, particularly for reporting and data visualization
  • Experience with Hyperion Planning and Dodeca Essbase Add-in.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, PPT, Word, etc.)

The base pay for this position is $78,000.00 – $156,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
