Job Title: Social Media Manager, Community & Influencer Engagement
Department: State Operations & Programs ( Web Operations)
Location: Miami, FL (Hybrid: Mondays & Fridays, WFH)

Salary Range: $45,000 – $60,000
Position Overview:
Best Buddies is seeking a dynamic, creative, and results-driven social media professional to join our team. This role is responsible for sharing the mission of Best Buddies through engaging digital storytelling while driving measurable growth in brand awareness, engagement, followers, and community participation across all social media platforms.
The Social Media Manager will lead day-to-day community engagement efforts while developing and executing strategic initiatives that amplify our programs, fundraising campaigns, and national events. This role will play a key role in expanding Best Buddies’ brand awareness and digital reach through influencer partnerships and managing the social presence of talent featured in the organization’s upcoming reality docuseries, Best Buddies on the Block.
This position requires a balance of creativity, analytics, relationship-building, and organization, with a strong focus on maintaining a brand voice that reflects inclusion, authenticity, and the impact of our mission.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, mission-driven team and play a key role in building brand awareness and telling stories that matter and building a movement centered on inclusion.
Job Requirements– Qualified applicants must have
- 3–6 years of experience in social media, community management, influencer marketing, and/or digital marketing.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
- Deep familiarity with major social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn).
- Strong knowledge of digital advertising channels, social tools, and analytics platforms.
- Proven track record of growing social media audiences and increasing engagement.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to adapt tone while staying on brand.
- Experience capturing and editing short-form video content for social media
- Strong photography and photo-editing skills
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, or similar tools
- Strong creative storytelling and copywriting skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and optimize performance
- Intermediate Excel skills (filters, formulas, pivot tables)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in maintaining confidentiality and protecting participant privacy at all times.
- Ability to demonstrate consistency, professionalism, inclusivity, and respect in all interactions.
- Customer service and community-focused mindset. Ability to travel for national (3–5 annually) and local events.
Job Duties
Marketing
- Manage Community Engagement & Growth for Best Buddies social platforms
- Respond to all messages, comments, and inquiries across social platforms in a timely, warm, and brand-aligned manner
- Share the mission of Best Buddies through daily content including participant stories, program highlights, and event promotion.
- Develop and execute strategies to grow followers and engagement across all platforms.
- Maintain a strong understanding of organizational programs and messaging.
- Collaborate with Communications and Web Operations teams to ensure consistent messaging.
- Partner with internal teams and external agencies on integrated campaigns.
- Support Development and Sponsorship teams with co-branded social content.
- Identify trends, tools, and opportunities to improve performance and outreach
- Identify, research, and engage social influencers, ambassadors, and public figures aligned with Best Buddies’ mission.
- Build and manage a network of mission-aligned influencers to support campaigns and initiatives.
- Collaborate with influencers to co-create authentic, inclusive content.
- Ensure all partnerships reflect brand values, voice, and safety standards.
- Track influencer performance and provide reporting on engagement and ROI.
- Lead and manage social media strategy for the reality docuseries, Best Buddies on the Block, focusing on enhancing the social presence of featured talent and participants through tailored content calendars and growth strategies.
- Provide guidance on tone, messaging, posting cadence, and audience engagement.
- Assist with caption writing, content planning, and community interaction.
- Monitor engagement and manage interactions for talent when needed.
- Create and maintain promotional timelines and campaign rollouts for the series.
- Collaborate with production, marketing, and PR teams for coordinated promotion.
- Identify opportunities to grow both the show’s audience and participant platforms in a mission-aligned way.
Operations
- Maintain and manage the social media content calendar
- Source and curate high-quality content from state programs
- Track and analyze key performance metrics across platforms
- Prepare and deliver monthly analytics reports with insights and recommendations
- Optimize content strategy based on performance data
- Provide training and support to field staff managing social accounts
- Maintain organized documentation of campaigns and weekly activity
- Support live event coverage, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Travel to capture and produce content at national and local events.
