Overview

As a Clinic Director, you are first and foremost a people leader. You are accountable for running your clinic, owning day-to-day execution, team leadership, patient experience, and financial results.

You set the vision, culture, and standard for how care is delivered and how teams work together. Your leadership shapes both patient experience and team engagement, creating an environment where people feel supported, challenged, and proud of the work they do.

This role blends clinical expertise with operational and people leadership. Most Clinic Directors are practicing clinicians who dedicate 5-15 hours per week to non-treating leadership responsibilities. In select clinics, an exceptional non-registered leader with strong operational and people leadership experience may also be considered, supported by clinical leadership within the clinic.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to develop people, lead with purpose, and build a clinic that delivers meaningful, consistent care every day.

People Leadership, Coaching and Culture

• Create a positive, inclusive, and accountable clinic culture where people feel valued and motivated.

• Lead, coach, and develop clinicians and administrative team members through regular feedback and growth conversations.

• Actively support career pathways, progression opportunities, and succession planning.

• Champion recruitment and retention by attracting aligned talent and creating an environment where people choose to stay and grow.

• Address team challenges with empathy and clarity, fostering trust, psychological safety, and accountability.

Clinical Leadership and Quality of Care

• Lead by example in clinical practice, modeling professionalism, compassion, and clinical excellence.

• Support high-quality clinical assessments and individualized, evidence-based treatment planning.

• Oversee the systematic monitoring of patient progress and outcomes to ensure consistently exceptional care.

• Guide clinicians on the development and execution of patient Plan of Care, ensuring appointments are scheduled with the front desk.

• Champion best practices and clinical consistency, working closely with clinical leaders and the Regional Director.

• Support accreditation initiatives and ensure clinical standards and service expectations are upheld.

Clinic Performance and Operational Leadership

• Lead the overall performance and operational health of the clinic with a clear understanding of key drivers, coaching clinicians and administrative team accordingly.

• Use data and performance trends to inform decisions and improvement initiatives.

• Champion efficient scheduling practices that increase access and utilization, while elevating the patient experience.

• Develop and implement action plans to strengthen service delivery, improve outcomes, and support sustainable clinic success.

• Partner with Regional Directors on staffing models, resourcing decisions, and clinic-level planning.

Recruitment, Talent Development and People Practices

• Lead recruitment efforts to attract high-quality clinicians and team members aligned with clinic values and culture.

• Oversee thoughtful onboarding and mentorship experiences, completion of all training, and the development of a full case load to support long-term success.

• Assist new clinicians in establishing a full case load.

• Guide performance review conversations and growth-oriented development planning aligned to key metrics.

• Partner with internal teams to navigate leaves of absence, transitions, and sensitive people matters.

• Ensure employment practices align with organizational values, policies, and employment standards.

Growth, Community Presence and Organizational Partnership

• Contribute to initiatives that support clinic growth and strengthen community relationships.

• Develop plans to expand the clinic’s reach, referral relationships, and impact within the community.

• Collaborate with national head office teams to ensure alignment, consistency, and shared best practices.

• Represent the clinic as a trusted, engaged leader within the broader Lifemark network.
