Resource Centre Coordinator

Location: Fort McMurray

Position Summary

The Resource Centre Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Resource Centre and ensuring it effectively supports the needs of program participants. This role works collaboratively with community organizations and the internal team to ensure resources are accessible, current, and responsive to participant needs.

The Coordinator supports clients in navigating community resources and connecting with appropriate supports that may assist them in addressing barriers and progressing toward employment or other program goals.

Key Responsibilities

Resource Centre Operations

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Resource Centre to ensure it is organized, welcoming, and accessible to participants. 
  • Maintain and update information and materials related to community resources, employment supports, and other relevant services. 
  • Ensure that resource materials and information remain current and relevant to participant needs. 
  • Provide general administrative support related to the functioning of the Resource Centre. 

Client Support and Resource Navigation

  • Assist clients in identifying and accessing appropriate community resources and supports. 
  • Provide guidance to participants on navigating available community services. 
  • Support participants in connecting with external service providers when additional supports are required. 

Internal Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with the internal program team to identify participant needs and appropriate resources. 
  • Share information on community services and resource updates with team members. 
  • Contribute to a coordinated approach to supporting participant success. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong administrative and customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport and foster positive relationships. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, enabling effective interaction with diverse audiences. 
  • Knowledge of available community resources and supports 
  • Ideally, previous experience in vocational assessments or employment services, demonstrating a commitment to supporting individuals in overcoming barriers to employment. 

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. 
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to support individuals in navigating complex systems.
