Job Description
Job Purpose:
We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Project Manager to take ownership of end‑to‑end project delivery across complex programmes and cross‑functional teams. This is a hands‑on, 12‑month contract role where you’ll be driving execution, ensuring strong governance, and delivering results on time and within budget.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of projects across the lifecycle of planning, execution, monitoring, and close‑out
- Deliver projects on time and within budget by actively managing scope, schedule, cost, risks, and changes
- Lead and coordinate cross‑functional teams (engineering, finance, supply chain, commercial, and delivery)
- Ensure projects meet Product Lifecycle (PLP) and commercial governance requirements, including key gates and reviews
- Develop and maintain core project artefacts such as WBS, schedules, RACI, risk logs, and project reports
- Track performance against baselines, perform variance analysis, and drive corrective actions where needed
- Act as the key point of contact for stakeholders and customers, managing expectations and ensuring clear communication
- Support bid and tender activities, including compliance, risk identification, and commercial inputs where required
- Manage external stakeholders and ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual commitments
- Drive handover to operations, service, or manufacturing for smooth transition post-delivery
- Promote strong project governance, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement practices
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Project/Programme Manager in engineering, technology, or infrastructure environments
- Strong understanding of project controls including planning, scheduling, cost management, forecasting, and risk tracking
- Experience working in cross-functional and matrix organisations
- Familiarity with project methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or PRINCE2
- Hands-on experience with project tools such as MS Project, Primavera, SAP, or similar systems
- Ability to manage stakeholders effectively and influence outcomes across teams
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, or related field (preferred)
- Professional PM certification (PMP/PRINCE2 or equivalent) is a plus
- Experience in product development or customer-facing delivery is advantageous
