The primary role of the Accounts Payable Executive involves managing the Accounts Payable (AP) for the Japan entity, as well as handling its Intercompany payments. The individual will collaborate closely with the Japan Finance Manager in their day-to-day tasks and payments. Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, she will be responsible for accounting and process improvement exercises, ensuring compliance with local statutory laws and adherence to global policies and procedures. The candidate must possess the ability to communicate in Japanese, both verbally and in writing, and should be capable of managing Japanese vendors and payments.

Responsibilities:

AP Management: Handle Accounts Payable, prepare payments, and maintain cashflow forecasts to ensure sufficient funds before making payments.

Employee Claims: Manage employee claims, ensuring efficient processing and timely resolution.

Intercompany Transactions: Handle Intercompany transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

General Ledger (GL) Schedules: Prepare GL schedules accurately and in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local Financial Reporting Standards (FRS), USGAAP, and Japanese accounting standards.

Month-end Close and Reporting: Collaborate closely with the Regional Accountants to complete month-end close and reporting tasks in a timely manner.

Compliance and Accuracy: Ensure transactions' accuracy in accordance with IFRS, local FRS, Japanese accounting standards, and compliance with internal policies.

Other APAC region AP & other function support as assigned: Handle Accounts Payable and other function in other APAC regions, as required, and provide support to regional teams in maintaining accurate financial records.

Communication: Effectively communicate with Japanese vendors, regional teams, and other stakeholders in both English and Japanese.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience in Regional AP and closing with Multinational Corporations (MNCs).

A Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent qualification.

Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including fluency in Japanese & English (speaking and writing).

Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Meticulous in handling financial data and capable of performing well under minimal supervision.

Must be able to communicate and write in Japanese.
