To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by 11:59pm (MT) on 11/01/2024 Position Summary: The Department of History in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in modern European history starting in the 2025-26 academic year. Job Duties: The teaching load is 3-3. The position includes teaching introductory survey courses and advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in area of specialty. An active research agenda in modern European history is expected. Service includes advising undergraduate majors. Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Modern European History by time of hire required; ABDs considered with degree in hand by August 2025. The demonstrated or potential ability to teach a survey course in European history from 1689 to the present and an upper-division course on the Holocaust is required. Preferred Requirements: The ideal candidate will be a dedicated scholar committed to undergraduate teaching with an active research agenda in modern European history. We especially encourage applications from those with an active research agenda focusing on Europe (including Russia) after 1815. Area of specialization is open.
