Job Description

Athletic Director

Appointment:

High School Principal

Qualifications:

Previous student group management experience preferred

Ability to lead and provide feedback to coaches

Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and coaches

Reports to:

High School Principal

Terms of Employment:

Days of Employment - 225

Salary: See salary table. Not eligible for overtime.

Physical Qualifications:

Shall have the ability to sit, stoop, possibly lift up to 50 pounds or more, and any/all body movements as related to the job description.

Job Goal:

To assist the principal in administering an effective extra-curricular program, consistent with district and principal's vision and directives.

Responsibilities:

Oversee all KHSAA sports and co-curricular activities, such as Band/Choir, Academic Team, JROTC, etc.

Assist with recruitment and evaluation of coaches

Maintain and submit accurate records

Manage youth and other feeder programs in district

Take necessary measures to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities

Ensure all events present a positive image to GCHS families and adhere to all Board policies and procedures

Other duties as assigned by Principal
