260 Days � Non-Rep Hourly

 

REPORTS TO:
Human Resources Supervisor

 

COMPENSATION:
$26.00/hr - $32.00/hr. (Dependent on qualifications and experience)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
Education:
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or Finance or significant experience that substitutes for educational requirements
Experience:
3�5 years of progressive benefits experience, ideally in a public sector or school district setting.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and HRIS systems

 

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the professional administration and oversight of the school district's comprehensive benefits programs. This role requires significant autonomy in interpreting complex policies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The role combines high-level strategic oversight with day-to-day benefits administration support.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Manages the daily operations of group health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and 403(b) programs.
Processes enrollments, supports employee questions, and completes benefits-related data entry across multiple systems.
Monitors compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, MN Paid Family and Medical Leave, and FMLA/OFLA regulations.
Leads internal and external audits to ensure benefit data integrity and financial accuracy.
Performs premium calculations, reconciles monthly billing statements, and resolves payroll discrepancies.
Participates in ACA and 1095-C reporting and distribution.
Provides employee consultation and support regarding benefit eligibility and enrollment processes.
Designs and facilitates open enrollment sessions and employee communication materials.
Creates benefits documentation and onboarding materials for new employees.
Serves as liaison with insurance carriers and third-party vendors.
Oversees HRIS benefits modules and carrier feed accuracy.
Provides data-driven recommendations regarding plan utilization and cost containment.
Supports district goals through collaboration, professionalism, confidentiality, and continuous improvement.
Performs other duties as assigned.
