Job Description
Paraprofessional / Health Aide - Sign-on Compensation after 90 days of employment.
I. General Description:
This purpose of this position is to provide clerical support to students, staff, administration, and the overall school community with the ESSER initiatives and requirements throughout the school site.
II. Qualifications:
1. Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Must have knowledge of basic office procedures and common office equipment and computers.
3. Must possess proficient typing and phone skills and knowledge of word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs.
4. Bilingual/Biliterate in Spanish and English preferred.
5. Must possess a valid IVP Fingerprint clearance card.
6. Must be able to pass a background check upon employment.
III. Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides positive and quality customer service for all.
2. Assists the school leadership team and school site with clerical duties to support ESSER initiatives and requirements.
3. Assists school nurse office with support to ill students including but not limited to clerical functions related to illness tracking, parent communications, administration of medication to students, supervision of ill students.
4. Assist the school nurse in maintaining a log of visitors to the nurse's office.
5. Assist with ordering office supplies in a timely fashion and maintains accurate inventory records, as needed.
6. Assists secretaries with office duties as may be necessary.
7. Takes responsibility in the care of school and minor repair of photocopier, fax machine and other office equipment and materials. Calls service technicians, as needed.
8. Answers phone and relays messages to principals, teachers, and students as may be necessary.
9. Assist in maintaining student information in student record systems.
10. Assists and comforts students in nurse's absence.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Reports To: Building Administrator
Calendar: 10 months; 29.5 hours/week
