JOB SUMMARY

  • Accommodates hotel guests by registering and assigning rooms, issuing room keys, transmitting and receiving messages, keeping records of occupied rooms and guests’ accounts, presenting statements to and collecting payments from departing guests, making and confirming reservations, answering PBX calls and connecting callers to the appropriate extension. Collects guests player club information and using same while making Marketing room reservations. Uses the player CMP system to assist the hotel guests at check-in and check-out. Selling merchandise to hotel guests, stocking shelves and counters, setting up displays and any daily promotions.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible include greeting guest, registers and assigns rooms, selling merchandise to hotel guests, stocking shelves and counters, setting up displays and any daily promotions.
  • Retrieves daily bank from the Cage and verify amount of money in your bank before shift and end of shift.
  • Work area should be maintained in a neat, clean and organized manner.
  • Makes and confirms reservations.
  • Verifies guest identification and establishes how the guest will pay for the accommodations.
  • Issues room keys and relays instructions to bellhops. 
  • Keeps records of room availability and guests’ accounts on computer.
  • Computes bills and collects payments.
  • Uses player CMP system to make Marketing offer reservations.
  • Answers PBX calls and routes calls to proper extension.
  • Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services, shopping, dining, entertainment and any other activity connected with the hotel, casino or entertainment complex.
  • Advises housekeeping staff when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning.
  • Contacts housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems.
  • Performs simple bookkeeping activities, such as balancing cash accounts.
  • Records guest comments or complaints, referring guests to a supervisor if needed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common regulatory agencies or members of the staff. Ability to write and present information to management in a reasonable manner Ability to perform normal mathematical computations in regard to the implementation of current duties. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent.
