Overview
Mount Alverna Village, a part of Franciscan Ministries, is a vibrant senior living community in Parma, Ohio. Mount Alverna Village is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), offering a variety of senior lifestyle options including independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing/long-term care. Additionally, the onsite rehabilitation clinic offers inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapies, and state-of-the-art programs designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and patients in the local community.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Activates and operates the dimension; answers and directs all incoming calls. Be ready at all times to operate the “page” system in the event of an emergency situation
- Receives all persons in the reception area including visitors of residents. Answers all questions when possible (resident’s room number, directions to room, etc.). Also is responsible for answering front door and careful screening is done at this time of anyone wishing to enter the home.
- Notifies proper personnel of ambulance arrival.
- Screens and announces calls when necessary.
- Helps family/visitors complete the accushield sign-in process
- Make photocopies for staff as requested.
- Input work orders through our work order program
- Record and distribute all general information sheets to proper departments.
- Hand out raffle tickets and collect money for upcoming events.
- Responsible for recording room numbers on Residents Mail.
- Closing of office every evening per Procedure Manual.
- Forwards mail to appropriate family member.
- Clerical duties include typing, filing and other related duties assigned
- Hand out paychecks to new hires who have live checks on payday Fridays. Records count of checks on weekends..
- Responsible for taking meal orders for associates and families using Full Count System
- Forward mail to discharged residents
- Monitor admissions and discharges generated throughout the day
- Receive clothing and items from families
Required skills and qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be able to work holidays as needed
- Must enjoy working with the senior population
- Must have 1-2 years Receptionist Experience
- Must have good customer-service skills
- Must be able to handle multiple phone lines
