What is the opportunity?
This role offers a senior operations position with visibility across RBC Capital Markets' North American and European operations, where you will monitor and process Corporate Action Events while maintaining books and records integrity. You will work directly with trading businesses and client-facing teams, serving as the first line of defense in capturing, reconciling, and funding Corporate Action Events at scale. Beyond day-to-day execution, you will standardize procedures, enhance metrics, and implement process improvements that strengthen the firm's competitive position. Your responsibilities require effective communication with diverse stakeholders across organizational levels, adapting your approach based on audience. You will function as a recognized senior expert and trusted advisor, shaping how the organization manages Corporate Action Events while delivering seamless client experiences. This ideal role combines tangible business impact with the opportunity to build a reputation as a trusted subject matter expert across multiple functions and geographies.

What will you do?
- Established subject matter expert on the day-to-day activities of a product or process and acts as primary point of escalation for junior or less experienced staff on complex issues. Knows when to escalate and does so appropriately, ensuring junior or less experiences staff are doing so as well. Is responsible for the oversight of a team of junior staff or teams processes to ensure all daily responsibilities are completed. Has established technical expertise and is known inside and outside of immediate Ops team as subject matter expert. Develops and harnesses ideas for process improvement; understands core business or regulatory reason for function; thoughtful about risk and performance metrics for team. May be responsible for various projects to improve efficiencies. Has a clear understanding of the firms different businesses.
- Supervisory - May have management responsibilities for an individual or team or be a single incumbent with "manager" or technical expert responsibilities for a function.
- Supports desks through Corporate Actions processing. Product Include: Equities (ETFs, ADRs Domestic and Canadian), Fixed Income and Equity/Index Options.
- Responsible for all mandatory corporate actions processing and reconciliation within Sophis. Events consist of: mergers, tenders, conversions, cash dividends, stock splits, dividend reinvestments (DRIPS), spinoffs, and optional dividends.
- Responsible for all voluntary corporate action processing and reconciliation within Sophis. Review voluntary offer notification and reconcile all receivables, payables, and position balances against the reorganizational department.
What you need to succeed?
- University degree or College Diploma or any equivalent combination of qualifications and/or experience.
- Typically requires at least 6+ or more years of relevant industry and operations experience, expertise and relationships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Problem Solving /Analytical Thinking.
- Diplomacy and tact to deal with staff and all levels of internal and external clients.
- Robust knowledge of corporate action events and processing.
- Robust product knowledge of Equities (ETFs, ADRs Domestic and
Canadian), Fixed Income and Equity/Index Options.
