Job Description
Amazon Mexico Retail team is looking for a data driven, customer-obsessed, hands on and creative candidate to join our team. The Sr. Vendor Manager for Grocery/Perishables owns the P&L for assigned sub-categories within Amazon Mexico's grocery business. This individual contributor drives category growth, vendor negotiations, assortment strategy, and day to day execution to deliver best-in-class customer experience.
Key job responsibilities
• Category Strategy & Growth: Define and execute the Grocery/Perishables category vision for MX, including selection expansion, pricing strategy aligned with local dynamics, contributing on delivering the best customer experience in the MX store.
• Vendor Management & Negotiations: Own strategic relationships with local suppliers, negotiating cost structures, secure exclusive assortment, and onboard new vendors.
• P&L Ownership: Manage category profitability, shrink/spoilage reduction, and promotional ROI. Identify and execute margin improvement levers while balancing growth investment.
• Instock & Supply Chain: Partner with Instock management, supply chain, and operations teams to optimize forecast accuracy, vendor lead times, and replenishment cadence.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with marketing, operations and finance to improve the end-to-end customer experience.

- Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English
- 5+ years of experience in retail buying, vendor management, category management, or commercial roles in Mexico's grocery/CPG industry.
- Experience managing a P&L or budget with demonstrated revenue and profitability results.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data-driven decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
- Experience in perishables, grocery, or fresh food retail within the Mexican market (supermarkets, e-grocery, or foodservice).
- Familiarity with Mexican food safety regulations (COFEPRIS, NOM standards).
- SQL proficiency or experience with BI/analytics tools.
