
Quality Inspector
Job Description
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
Location: Tulsa, OK
Position Responsibilities:
- Move and/or obtain correct parts, materials, and tools, as necessary within the employee's assignment as directed by management.
- Use of all precision measuring instruments required to accomplish work assignments.
- Capable of accessing and navigating electronic systems as required by the position program, and/or company.
- Works safely and maintains a safe work environment adhering to established company safety requirements.
- Train, coach and/or assist fellow employees as requested or required by the company.
- Maintain and utilize required personal certifications and qualifications as directed by the company to perform job assignments.
- Ensure equipment and tool certification occurs per procedure.
- Report job handicaps such as: errors in parts, procedures, tools, sequences, etc.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, high-volume production role in Quality.
- Must be able to measure machine and detail fabricated parts to customer requirements.
- Must be willing and able to work any shift.
- Must be able to read blueprints, BAC's and D Documents.
- Must be able to use basic hand tools.
- Must be able to use inspection tooling in a manufacturing environment such as, micrometeres, calipers and torque guns.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- CATIA – based knowledge of aircraft drawings and reference points is preferred.
