Job Description:

Lattice Semiconductor is seeking a Principal Software Product Marketing Engineer to lead the business, technical, and market strategy for our FPGA developer software tools. This role combines deep FPGA software expertise with product marketing leadership, business planning, and developer evangelism. You will define how Lattice’s software tools are positioned, adopted, and valued in the market, while serving as a senior technical authority across engineering, sales, and customers. This high impact, highly visible role is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team with ample opportunity to shape product direction, learn and grow.

Responsibilities: 

Product Strategy

• Define software feature requirements for existing and future products, maintaining a current and forward-looking view of customer and developer requirements.

• Develop and own business plans, marketing strategies, and forecasts for FPGA developer software tools.

• Influence and prioritize software and platform investments based on market data, customer workflows, competitive dynamics, and business impact.

• Drive product differentiation within the competitive FPGA software landscape.

Technical Leadership and Cross‑Functional Execution

• Serve as a principal technical contributor to software roadmap definition and execution.

• Lead MRD development and reviews, ensuring alignment between customer needs, technical feasibility, and business goals.

• Drive implementation of software features in partnership with engineering and applications teams.

Go‑to‑Market

• Define and execute software go‑to‑market plans, including launch strategy, promotion plans, and competitive analysis.

• Act as the internal and external evangelist for Lattice FPGA developer tools by creating compelling technical messaging and demonstrating product benefits and capabilities.

• Partner with applications, sales and FAEs to enable customer success through training, collateral, demos, and technical positioning.

Customer Engagement & Thought Leadership

• Engage directly with strategic customers and partners to gather feedback and validate product direction.

• Represent Lattice in customer briefings, industry events, and technical forums as needed.

• Serve as a subject‑matter expert and mentor within the organization.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of experience in engineering, applications engineering, software development, or technical/software product marketing.

• 10+ years of direct technical expertise in FPGA architecture, developer tools, and design workflows.

• Deep technical expertise in FPGA architecture, developer tools, and design workflows.

• Strong understanding of developer experience, usability, and software adoption in semiconductor or platform ecosystems.

• Proven experience developing and consuming MRDs, PRDs, business plans, and marketing strategies.

• Ability to connect complex technical capabilities to clear customer and business value.

• B.S. EE, Comp E or equivalent.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and business audiences.

• Strong customer centric mindset and collaborative approach.

• Ability to operate effectively across organizational and geographic boundaries in a fast-paced environment.
