
AVP, Women's and Children Service Line
Job Description
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Women’s and Children’s Services serves as the senior operational and strategic leader responsible for the performance, growth, and clinical excellence of the Women’s and Children’s Service Line across the health system.
This role provides executive-level leadership for maternal, neonatal, pediatric, and related specialty programs, ensuring high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care aligned with organizational goals. The AVP integrates clinical, operational, financial, and strategic priorities to drive service line growth, enhance patient outcomes, and improve the overall care experience.
The AVP collaborates closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and executive stakeholders to advance program development, operational efficiency, and market differentiation.
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, or related field required. Clinical degree (e.g., RN) preferred or required based on organizational structure. 7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare. Demonstrated leadership in Women’s and/or Children’s Services (e.g., L&D, NICU, Pediatrics). Proven experience managing complex hospital operations and service line performance. Experience in strategic planning, quality improvement, and financial management.
