As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and managing customer relationships within the construction, pavement preservation, and infrastructure markets. This role focuses on expanding existing accounts, developing new business opportunities, and delivering value through a consultative, relationship-based sales approach. Success in this role comes from understanding customer needs, effectively communicating product and service solutions, and partnering with internal teams to consistently deliver high-quality results.
This role supports the Central Indiana region, and candidates are expected to reside within the designated geographic area.
Essential Functions
Customer Service:
- Promote, sell, and secure orders from existing and prospective customers using a relationship-based sales approach
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory
- Conduct product demonstrations and educational presentations, including “lunch & learn” sessions
Account Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers
- Regularly engage customers through in-person visits, job site meetings, phone, and email communication
- Understand customer objectives and align solutions to meet their needs
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Develop and execute account-specific sales strategies
- Create action plans to address customer needs and resolve issues proactively
- Collaborate with internal teams to forecast, plan, and budget sales activities
Industry & Market Engagement:
- Prepare and submit bid documents and participate in bid lettings as needed
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams including sales, engineering, and operations
- Engage with external stakeholders such as contractors, consultants, municipalities, DOT representatives, and other agencies
Compliance & Safety:
- Adhere to all company safety standards and regulatory requirements in all business activities
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; or equivalent experience
Experience Qualifications
- Experience in the asphalt, construction materials, or infrastructure industry
- Familiarity with DOT, municipal, and contractor sales environments
Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across teams
- Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets
- Grow and retain key customer accounts
- Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction
- Increase adoption of company products and services within the territory
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid driver's license is required
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Frequent travel throughout the region is required based on business needs
- Must reside within or near the assigned territory
