2nd Shift Custodial Lead - Pennfield Middle School
Reports To: Facility Supervisor/Head Custodian
Takes Direction From: Facility Supervisor, Coordinator of Environmental & Custodial
Operations, Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations, Director of Facilities and
Operations
Schedule/Calendar: 7.5 hours/day | 37.5 hours/week | 265 days/year
Salary: $22.81 - $24.83
Essential Functions:
- Assist in the hiring and training of staff assigned to the building.
- Assist in the supervision of staff assigned to the building.
- Personally perform custodial/maintenance tasks as needed.
- Provide prompt information to all emergency situations including equipment
failure, fires, hazardous conditions, illegal entry, suspicious situations, etc., to the
coordinator of facilities. - Assign and oversee shift cleaning and custodial type security tasks in a manner
approved by the Facility Supervisor. - Personally perform or oversee performance of shift custodians as to opening and
locking of schools and all designated entrance doors. - Attend meetings as requested by the Coordinator of Support Services.
- Oversee the proper maintenance of custodial closets, tools, and supplies used by
shift custodians. - Requisition all custodial/building maintenance tools, equipment, parts, supplies,
and materials from the Facility Supervisor. - Operate and monitor heating, cooling, ventilating, pneumatic, electric, plumbing,
water treatment systems as instructed and directed by the Facility Supervisor. - Maintain complete records on shift personnel for attendance.
- Report to the Facility Supervisor any and all accidents, no matter how minor,
occurring during the shift and submit report on proper workmen's compensation
form as instructed by the Facility Supervisor. - Report to the Facility Supervisor any personnel/performance problems occurring
on the shift and resolution, if any. - Perform maintenance of property and grounds including, but no limited to; trash
pickup, mowing, trimming, weeding, etc. - Perform other building maintenance tasks as assigned or directed.
- Perform snow and ice removal tasks as needed and directed.
Education and/or Certification Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid PA Driver's License
Experience Needed:
- Five years previous building maintenance and/or custodial experience
Requisite Skills:
- Ability to read, write, understand, convey and follow clear written and verbal
instructions - Ability to plan, schedule, and control on site custodial work according to facilities
department approved procedures - Ability to frequently push, pull, lift, twist, stand, raise arms above shoulders, stoop
to floor, work in a noisy environment, varying temperatures, inside and outside.
