Senior Vault / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and configure Vault clusters across OpenShift, AWS, Azure, and GCP, following the approved three-region architecture (1 primary, 2 DR, 3 PR clusters per instance; 6 pods per cluster).
• Author and manage GitOps configurations for Vault installation; create namespaces and onboard to GitOps.
• Generate TLS certificates and store them in the appropriate secret store.
• Run and validate deployment pipelines; manually unseal Vault and store recovery keys and root tokens per policy.
• Build Terraform configurations for Vault deployment and configure the Vault auth backend via pipeline.
• Enable DR functionality across three regions, set up performance replicas, configure auto-unseal jobs, and stand up load balancers.
• Smoke test configured Vault instances and perform DR flip/failover testing across all regions.
• Configure observability dashboards, alerts, and synthetic monitoring; integrate with the bank's alerting systems.
• Coordinate with partner squads – PKI (signing CSRs), Crypto (HSM partitions), MCE (cluster build/management), and others – by raising and tracking change tickets in advance to keep work flowing.
• Migrate all clients onto the new cluster set and maintain backup/restore validation per policy.
• Keep all documentation current so environments can be rebuilt as needed.

Requirements

Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science or a related field. 
• Terraform – strong, hands-on (fundamental).
• Kubernetes – strong working knowledge in an OpenShift context (fundamental).
• Experience across AWS and Azure.
• Hybrid and multi-cloud experience (private + public).
• Ability to work alongside CA, AppSec, HSM, PKI, and Crypto teams.
• Senior-level communication and collaboration skills – able to join meetings, report status, and work as part of a wider enterprise squad.
• Professional-level English communication skills. 

Nce ito Have:

• HashiCorp Vault – solid working knowledge; able to stand up, unseal, replicate, and operate Vault – strongly preferred given the nature of the work.
• Comfort with GCP and OpenShift.
• Using AI tools.
