Across Aotearoa, Downer Greenspace looks after some of our region’s high profile open spaces, creating a sense of place, community and wellbeing. Join our team in Auckland and play an important role in maintaining contract waterways, ponds and rivers as a Stormwater Operator.  

In this hands-on role, you’ll help maintain waterways by managing vegetation and debris, ensuring all work meets contract requirements and environmental best practices. This role suits someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can work both independently and as part of a team.

Our home depot is in Wiri, however the majority of work is across the North Shore, so being based locally or nearby is ideal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and control waterway vegetation and debris in line with contract specifications

• Conduct regular inspections of waterways to identify and remove blockages, debris, and control vegetation.

• Carry out spraying activities as required, following industry best practice

• Assess site conditions and maintenance needs to meet service outcomes

• Report completions and issues using phone app systems

• Recommend improvements to enhance service delivery

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

We're looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and is ideally located in North Auckland. You will bring:

• A Full Class 1 Driver Licence 

• Stormwater and Greenspace experience would be ideal, but training can be provided for the right candidate

• A positive attitude and willingness to support the wider team

• A strong commitment to health, safety and quality

• Reliability, self-motivation and a high standard of workmanship
