The Commercial & Industrial Operations / Deal Execution professional is responsible for the hands‑on execution of complex C&I engagements, including client‑site operations, labor and vendor coordination, and day‑to‑day support of active deals. This role plays a critical part in translating executed deal strategy into operational reality, particularly in time‑sensitive, distressed, or operationally complex environments.
The role requires high flexibility, frequent travel, strong on‑site presence, and the ability to proactively resolve operational challenges while maintaining effective communication with both clients and internal deal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Execution & On‑Site Operations
Support active Commercial & Industrial engagements through direct on‑site involvement, often on short notice
Represent Gordon Brothers, in a professional manner, in operational settings including warehouses, DCs, manufacturing sites, and liquidation environments
Assist in the execution of liquidation, wind‑down, transition, or operational restructuring activities
Identify issues impacting timeline, cost, or execution and escalate appropriately to deal leadership.
Proactively flag constraints (e.g., audits, space limits, timing pressure) and discusses options with internal team and warehouse leadership to keep freight flowing.
Hands‑on execution of warehouse coordination, and operational communication and flow of documents, especially in high‑volume and time‑critical scenarios.
Client & Stakeholder Interaction
Serve as a day‑to‑day operational interface with clients, vendors, staffing providers, and third parties
Adapt communication style to client circumstances, including distressed or high‑pressure environments
Provide operational guidance and assistance to clients’ staff to ensure streamlined processes.
Maintain responsiveness and availability to internal stakeholders and client contacts throughout the engagement
Labor, Vendor & Resource Coordination
Coordinate temporary labor, warehouse staffing, supervisors, and skilled operators as required for project execution
Work directly with staffing providers and vendors to source, deploy, and manage labor resources
Support implementation of labor strategies consistent with Gordon Brothers project models and prior engagements
Monitor staffing adequacy and operational coverage to ensure uninterrupted project progress
Internal Deal Team Support
Participate in deal‑specific strategy and execution meetings
Support senior deal leads by managing execution‑level workstreams and operational follow‑through
Provide regular updates to internal teams regarding on‑site conditions, risks, and execution status
Collaborate closely with Asset Management, Valuation, and Financial Advisory teams as applicable to the engagement
Hands‑on execution of warehouse coordination, and operational communication and flow of documents, especially in high‑volume and time‑critical scenarios.
Required Skills & Attributes
10+ years of relevant work experience in operational and execution based roles
Strong operational judgment in fast‑moving environments
Comfort working in distressed or non‑traditional operating settings
Ability to manage competing priorities under tight timelines
Direct, professional communication style with internal and external stakeholders
Hands‑on, execution‑oriented mindset aligned with Gordon Brothers’ deal culture
Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Ability to support data tracking, reporting, inventory management, and real-time operational communication in high‑volume, time‑sensitive environments
Extensive travel required, including short‑notice site visits
Willingness to work non‑standard hours during active project phases
Availability aligned with client and project needs rather than a fixed
