Description of Work
We are currently recruiting for a Recreational Therapist at Whitaker PRTF. This position provides Recreational Therapy services for residents throughout Whitaker PRTF. This position evaluates residents referred for Recreational Therapy through a comprehensive individualized assessment. This position designs and implements Recreational Therapy programs and interventions to meet the residents’ treatment goals and monitors and documents the resident’s response, participation, performance, and progress towards the goals identified in the Master Treatment Plan. This position has regular written and/or verbal communication with each treatment team regarding residents receiving Recreational Therapy.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Range: $41,407.00 - $62,111.00

Previous work experience with adolescents through the facilitation of individual and group recreation therapy.
This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.
This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement. The normal working hours are 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., however, flexibility is required to meet facility needs.

About Whitaker PRTF:
Whitaker Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) is an 18-bed secure residential treatment facility operated by the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services. As part of the Child and Family Services Section, it provides residential care, supervision, and educational services for 18 youth ages 13-17 with complex behavioral, emotional, psychological, and neurological disorders. It also provides community liaison support services for students and families with a staffing complement of 72 full-time clinical, educational, residential and support positions.

Veteran’s and National Guard Preference
