Job Description
The CT Tech 2 participates in technical duties directly involved with all modalities in which they are registered including developing, initiating, and monitoring procedures for the effective utilization of the units. The CT Tech 2 actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Under the direction of the department manager/Director, performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to insure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients. Follows all ACR guidelines and maintains proper radiation dosing to all patients.
Essential Functions
Ensure clear communication with patients about procedures, including age-specific considerations and comfort measures
Verify orders and accurately identify patients before procedures.
Conduct thorough assessments before and after imaging procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort.
Select and apply pre-established technical protocols for each examination, modifying as necessary for patient needs.
Maintain patient safety through proper shielding, modesty, and comfort during exams.
Manage patient flow effectively to minimize delays and enhance productivity in the imaging department.
Accurately process paperwork, document procedures, and report any issues or mechanical malfunctions promptly.
Maintain communication with the emergency room to ensure timely report delivery and patient care.
Stay updated with mandatory continuing education and departmental changes to maintain professional standards.
Exhibit cooperative behavior with colleagues and assist in various departmental tasks while maintaining a professional work environment.
Education
- Technical Program Radiologic Technologist
License/Registration - Issued by Florida or Compact State
Radiology Technologist
Certification
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R - Radiography)
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (CT - Computerized Tomography)
Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Work Experience
One year experience as a CT Technologist. A working knowledge of the CT equipment is necessary.
