Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Insights, the Product Data Scientist will be responsible for analyzing disparate data sources to provide recommendations that guide MCU’s member-centric growth strategy. Using both structured and unstructured data, this senior analyst will be responsible for applying a variety of analytic techniques, including econometric and machine learning models, to uncover growth segments, guide product development, and support personalization efforts. The analyst will help develop clear, actionable recommendations and deliver results to senior leaders. 


 

Responsibilities:


  • Identity and prepare structured and unstructured data for analysis
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to inform product development, member segments and personalization efforts
  • Develop econometric and machine learning models to drive insights and support growth
  • Work with business partners and the Director of Strategic Insights to identify and prioritize projects with the greatest potential for impact. 
  • Translate analysis results into business-oriented action items
  • Communicate results to marketing and other business leaders
  • Develop processes and methods for tracking impact of recommendations
  • Serve as a ‘data end user’ SME to identify areas of improvement for data processes and systems
  • Partner with marketing to evaluate and optimize campaign performance, leveraging product and member data to improve targeting, conversion, and ROI.
  • Onboard, train, and provide ongoing guidance for analysts ensuring consistency in analytics processes, data interpretation, and reporting standards.
  • Serve as a cross-functional analytics resource for initiatives that span across the marketing and product division
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 




Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s Preferred) in Math, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or another quantitative field
  • 5+ years in an analytical position, including experience with modeling, A/B testing, causal inference, or other advanced techniques. Experience in financial services preferred.
  • Proven ability to aggregate and synthesize larger data sets from multiple sources
  • Proficiency with Python, R, or other analytic language.
  • Proficiency with SQL, including CTEs and window functions
  • Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, or other BI tools.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate complex ideas simply
  • Strong reporting, decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

The pay range for this position is between $106,300-180,090 annually. Actual base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus, 401(k) with an 6% employer match per pay period. Benefits for this position include Medical, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance, flexible paid time off and 11 paid holidays annually.
