Position: GSR Night Audit

Location: Hotel Californian – Santa Barbara, CA
Schedule: Part-time | Overnight shifts 

Position Summary

The Night Auditor is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service during overnight hours and for performing end-of-day accounting and reporting functions. This role combines front desk responsibilities with basic financial auditing, ensuring a smooth transition between business days and maintaining Hotel Californian's high service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet, assist, and check in/check out guests in a professional and welcoming manner
• Handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and courteously
• Perform nightly audit procedures, including reconciling daily transactions and balancing accounts
• Prepare and distribute daily financial and operational reports
• Process payments, post charges, and ensure accuracy of guest folios
• Monitor hotel security and ensure guest safety during overnight hours
• Answer phone calls, route messages, and respond to emergencies as needed
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area
• Communicate effectively with morning staff to ensure a seamless shift transition

Qualifications

• Previous hotel front desk or night audit experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and basic accounting or cash-handling skills
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and remain alert during overnight shifts
• Proficiency with hotel PMS systems
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor

Physical & Schedule Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally

Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
