Metals USA is seeking a Production Scheduler for our Jeffersonville, IN location. Physical Demands:

Occupation requires physical activity more than 66% of the time (> 5.5 hours per day)

  • Sitting at computer and walking production plant floor to monitor inventories as needed.

Other Physical Requirements:

  • Must wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)--when going to warehouse, PPE provided by Metals USA
  • Steel-toed boots
  • Hard hats with chin straps; chin straps must be worn at all times on elevated surface
  • Protective eyewear
  • Hand protection
  • Arm guards/sleeves

Work Environment:

May be exposed to some of the following working conditions.

  • Typical working withing an office setting
  • Walking inside of an industrial warehouse
  • Environmental temperature changes (extreme heat & cold)
  • Moderate to loud noise levels
  • Vibration
  • Oils, dust, fumes and metallic particles
  • Day and night shifts

Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Maintains all production orders, open production orders and releases work to the shop.
  • Reviews daily work center capacities to update.
  • Communicates with sales and production on order expediting.
  • Provides order visibility for overtime planning.
  • Reviews and completes production paperwork on all production orders for accuracy prior to sending to production.
  • Provides visibility/follow up on upcoming orders as well as orders already in production.
  • Develops understanding of customer base and customer requirements to ensure customers' needs are met.
  • Reviews shipping schedules to ensure on time deliveries.
  • Develops working knowledge of all production equipment to better plan workloads.
  • Assists in achieving highest productivity and efficiency levels.
  • Allocates inventory to ensure cost effective production, reduction of scrap loss, and on time deliveries.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required to perform the duties of a Production
  • Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
  • Adheres to Reliance's Code of Conduct as well as customer confidentiality requirements.
  • Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
