Job Description:

The Electronics Development Group is seeking an electronics technician or electronics engineer (Research Specialist 1 - hourly). The Electronics Development Group provides comprehensive technical support for the teaching and research missions of the Department of Physics and Astronomy including the design and fabrication of specialized electronic circuits, instruments and systems, maintenance of custom built and commercial instruments, and general technical support to faculty, staff and students.

Responsibilities will include construction of analog and digital designs, printed circuit board layout, troubleshooting, repair and modification of circuits and instruments. Incumbent is responsible for the care and maintenance of equipment and machinery used in the Electronics Shop. Additional duties assigned by supervisor and/or department chair.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or closely related field

Preferred qualifications: One year additional relevant experience is desired. Some (infrequent) travel may be required to assist in the deployment and installation of experiments at other sites.
