
Radiation Therapist - Cancer Center/Full Time 4 Days 8a-5:30p
Job Description
A Radiation Therapist is an allied health professional who delivers external beam radiation therapy treatments to patients according to the treatment plan prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Delivers radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist
- Delivers radiation treatments according to established practices and standards
- Positions patients for treatment with accuracy and according to the prescription
- Records treatment data in the patient’s medical record; monitors integrity of the documentation for accuracy
- Performs pre-treatment, pre-simulation time-outs for quality assurance
- Reviews prescriptions, diagnosis, and treatment information
- Prepares equipment such as treatment and immobilization devices
- Maintains and updates the patient’s electronic medical record as necessary
- Adheres to and applies radiation safety regulations and requirements that are set forth by state and federal guidelines
- Maintain all patient markings to ensure accurate delivery of treatment
Other Functions:
- Assists with CT and clinical simulation for use in the treatment planning process as ordered by the Radiation Oncologist
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy School/Program
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy (R.T.T) within 90 days of graduation
- Basic Life Support Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Varian Treatment Units
- Experience with ARIA record and verify systems
Salary Range: $33.79 - $50.68/ Hour
