Optus is seeking a Senior Business Analyst (24 Month Fixed Term) to play a pivotal role in delivering complex enterprise and customer solutions. This position acts as a critical bridge between business stakeholders, customers, and cross-functional delivery teams, ensuring business requirements are clearly defined, analysed, and translated into actionable, high-quality solutions.
The role is responsible for leading end-to-end business analysis across the full program lifecycle - from Discovery and Design through to Delivery -bringing strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and attention to detail to manage complex business, operational, and technical requirements. You will work closely with Product, Technology, Network, and external partners (such as NBN and Telstra) to align business needs with technical constraints and program frameworks.
As a Senior BA, you will drive stakeholder engagement, support governance and data integrity, and manage dependencies to enable efficient and scalable program execution. The role also focuses on delivering seamless customer experiences by balancing customer outcomes with internal delivery constraints, ensuring consistent processes and optimal migration pathways across a diverse enterprise customer base.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end-to-end requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation across Product, Technology, Delivery, Network, GTM, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, Finance and external partners (e.g. NBN, Telstra).
- Develop and maintain detailed process maps, target operating models, and customer journey frameworks to support migration and disconnection milestones.
- Translate technical, regulatory, and program constraints into clear, actionable business and operational requirements.
- Perform business impact assessments and data analysis to inform migration strategies, prioritisation, and decision-making.
- Manage data integrity, requirements traceability, and cross-stream dependencies to ensure aligned and efficient program delivery.
- Support testing, governance, and stakeholder engagement activities to ensure solutions are validated, fit-for-purpose, and deliver a seamless customer experience.
What You Bring
- Extensive experience (8–10+ years) as a Senior Business Analyst, with a strong track record delivering across large-scale transformation or migration programs from Discovery through to Implementation.
- Advanced expertise in requirements elicitation, documentation, traceability, and change control, combined with strong process modelling and target operating model design skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams (Product, Technology, Network, Delivery) and manage multiple stakeholders in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Strong analytical capability with hands-on experience in data analysis, reconciliation, and managing large, complex datasets to support decision-making.
- Solid experience supporting UAT/BRT, governance forums, and end-to-end delivery lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, fit-for-purpose outcomes.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes, manage ambiguity, and deliver under tight deadlines.
