As a Product Management Specialist II at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll contribute to growth and innovation across our diverse product portfolios. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute product strategies, analyze market opportunities, and ensure customer success. You'll help shape product roadmaps, lead launch activities, and deliver solutions that enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, requiring you to develop and validate current and future technologies, manage product lifecycles, gather market intelligence, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You'll serve as a key liaison between commercial teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment on product strategy and customer needs. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver innovative solutions to scientists and researchers worldwide.
A Day in the Life:
Support product portfolio growth by collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute product strategies and business initiatives. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for innovation and portfolio expansion. Coordinate product lifecycle activities, support product launches, and work closely with commercial teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful execution of strategic objectives.
What to expect:
- Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to develop and execute product strategies
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and gather customer insights to support business decisions
- Assist with product lifecycle management activities and portfolio optimization initiatives
- Support new product launches, commercialization efforts, and go-to-market activities
- Develop and validate current and future technologies and applications within assigned product portfolios
- Analyze business performance data and prepare reports using Excel and business intelligence tools
- Partner with commercial teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to align on product strategy and customer requirements
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support operational excellence projects
- Manage multiple priorities and projects within a global matrix organization
- Travel as required to support business objectives, customer engagement, and team collaboration
Keys to Success:
Education
- Advanced Degree with no prior experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of experience in product management, marketing, or a related field within the life sciences or laboratory industry.
- Preferred fields of study include Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biology, other scientific disciplines, Business, or Marketing.
Experience
- Experience in product management, marketing, or a related business function within the life sciences, laboratory, or scientific products industry
- Exposure to product lifecycle management, market analysis, or commercialization activities preferred
- Experience working in cross-functional and global team environments preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Technical aptitude with the ability to learn complex scientific products, technologies, and applications and effectively transfer knowledge to others
- Strong analytical and data management skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business intelligence tools
- Solid project management and organizational capabilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across stakeholder groups
- Ability to analyze market opportunities and translate insights into actionable recommendations
- Ability to work effectively in a global matrix organization
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% as required by business needs
