Sanitation Technician - 3rd shift

Richelieu Foods, Inc. is a leading national private label and contract packing food manufacturer focused on frozen pizza. We have two manufacturing facilities located in IL and WI. We provide products to many national retailers, wholesalers, distributors, club and mass stores, as well as industrial accounts including other food manufacturers. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for effective sanitation of the various plant equipment and departments.  
• Must be able to follow equipment cleaning instructions as listed in the Sanitation Procedures Manual. 
• Responsible for compliance with GMP’s, proper sanitation, and housekeeping in area. 
• Responsible for use of required safety equipment and complying with proper safety procedures including wearing proper protective clothing, steal toed boots and safety googles/face shield at all times.  
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. 
• Must become familiar with cleaning chemicals by name, function, and usage rate and become chemical certified. 
• Must be able to follow verbal instructions from Supervisor. 
• Must be detail oriented and be able to work independently. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience operating a pallet jack instead. 
• Experience using a variety of equipment including a power washer. 
• Minimum 6 months of previous sanitation experience. 

 

Essential Skills and Abilities  

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance procedures a variety of instructions, diagrams or schedules. 
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

 

Working Conditions 

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. 
• The Sanitation team works the 3rd shift.
• Shift hours: 10:30pm-7am.

 

Physical Demands 

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear.
• The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
• The employee will work regularly in wet and slippery conditions.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 70 pounds.  

 

Pay and Benefits 

The following information is provided in accordance with applicable state and local laws. Compensation is based on experience, geographic locations, and other legally permitted factors. The starting hourly rate is $20.50. This position may also be eligible for overtime pay and shift differentials.
