About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Machine Learning Technical Lead to join our Management teams in Novi Sad and drive the development and deployment of cutting-edge AI solutions for Autodesk Flow Studio (formerly Wonder Studio), our state-of-the-art AI-powered VFX platform.
This role is critical in leading a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers, ensuring the creation of scalable, efficient, and innovative ML models that enhance our platform’s capabilities. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business teams to integrate AI-driven solutions, optimize workflows, and shape the future of AI in VFX. Responsibilities
- Direct, manage, and oversee the development and deployment of machine learning models, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical feasibility.
- Lead a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers, providing technical mentorship, career development support, and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Develop and execute machine learning and product strategy, identifying opportunities where AI/ML can drive business value and enhance product offerings.
- Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation, ensuring machine learning initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively.
- Provide technical oversight on model development, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring, ensuring scalability, reliability, and ethical AI practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to integrate ML solutions into products and services, translating business needs into technical implementations.
- Research, evaluate, and implement cutting-edge machine learning techniques, tools, and frameworks to enhance model performance and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with ethical AI principles, data privacy regulations, and responsible AI practices, addressing biases and promoting transparency in ML models.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of machine learning workflows, model architectures, experiments, and performance metrics for internal reference and stakeholder reporting.
- Partner with infrastructure and engineering teams to optimize ML pipelines, ensuring cost-effective, scalable, and maintainable deployments.
- Promote an environment of continuous learning, collaboration, constructive feedback, and open discussions, enabling productive iteration and team growth.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Machine Learning Technical Lead, ML Engineer, or Data Science Manager with a strong track record of developing and deploying ML models in production.
- Broad expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling, with hands-on experience in areas such as computer vision, natural language processing (NLP), generative AI, or reinforcement learning.
- Extensive knowledge of the AI/ML landscape, with an emphasis on AI applications in media, entertainment, and design—especially in VFX, animation, or content creation workflows.
- Experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders, to integrate AI solutions into production environments.
- Proven experience in architecting and optimizing ML pipelines, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Experience managing recruitment, training, and mentorship of ML engineers and data scientists, fostering professional growth and technical excellence.
- Strong programming skills in Python (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn) and experience with ML infrastructure tools (AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, MLflow, etc.).
- Deep understanding of ethical AI principles, model bias mitigation, explainability, and compliance with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to break down complex ML challenges into actionable solutions.
- Excellent project management skills, capable of handling multiple ML initiatives, prioritizing effectively, and aligning teams toward shared goals.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to explain ML concepts to non-technical stakeholders and advocate for AI-driven strategies.
- Bonus: Experience with real-time AI applications in media production, computer graphics, Unreal Engine, Maya, or Blender for AI-driven VFX workflows.
