Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)

HCA Healthcare UK is seeking an outstanding Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to join the Executive team at The Harborne Hospital. This is a pivotal, C-suite leadership role with overall responsibility for clinical quality, patient safety, and the delivery of exceptional patient care across the facility. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will provide visible and strategic leadership across nursing and allied health professions, ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence, governance, and patient experience are consistently achieved.

Duties and responsibilities:
Provide Executive leadership for all nursing and allied health services across the hospital
Lead the delivery of the Quality and Governance Framework, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards
Act as the senior accountable leader for patient safety, clinical quality, and patient experience
Drive a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and excellence in care delivery
Lead clinical governance, risk management, and assurance processes across the facility
Serve as Safeguarding Lead, ensuring effective partnership working and governance frameworks
Work closely with the CEO and Executive team to shape and deliver the hospital’s strategic direction
Lead workforce planning, ensuring safe staffing levels, capability and skill mix
Inspire and develop high-performing clinical leadership teams
Skills and experience:
You will be an experienced and credible clinical leader, operating at (or ready to step into) Executive level, with a passion for delivering outstanding patient care.
Essential:
Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
Significant senior leadership experience within complex healthcare environments
Strong track record in clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety
Experience of leading large, multidisciplinary clinical teams
Commercial awareness, including budgeting and operational performance management
Desirable:
Postgraduate qualification in leadership, management or a related field
Experience in independent healthcare
