Job Description

Job Summary: 

The Final Assembler is responsible for completing the final assembly of illuminated and non-illuminated signage prior to quality inspection, packaging, and shipment. This role installs LED lighting and wiring components, stretches and secures sign faces, verifies product accuracy against job specifications, and performs quality checks to ensure finished signs meet customer, safety, and company standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, quality-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Duties and Expectations:

  • Read and interpret work orders, production drawings, job summaries, and specifications to complete final assembly accurately.
  • Install and secure LED modules, power supplies, wiring, and related electrical components according to job requirements and safe work practices.
  • Assemble illuminated and non-illuminated sign components, including faces, backs, trim, retainers, cabinets, channel letters, and related hardware.
  • Stretch, align, and secure flexible sign faces using appropriate tools, tensioning methods, and hardware to achieve a clean, finished appearance.
  • Verify hole placement, mounting patterns, hardware locations, and component fit before final completion.
  • Perform quality control checks on finished signs, including visual inspection, fit and finish, cleanliness, lighting function, wiring placement, and overall accuracy to specifications.
  • Identify defects, missing components, wiring concerns, or job discrepancies and communicate issues promptly to the lead, supervisor, or appropriate production team.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and assembly equipment safely and effectively to complete assigned work.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following 5S expectations and all required safety procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with fabrication, paint, vinyl, electrical, quality, packaging, and shipping teams to meet production schedules and customer ship dates.
  • Complete required documentation, job sign-offs, or production updates accurately and on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production, quality, and on-time delivery.

Work Environment:

 

  • Work conditions consist of a manufacturing plant environment with regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, and use of hand and power tools throughout the day.
  • The role may involve exposure to typical production conditions, including noise, dust, adhesives, electrical components, moving equipment, and varying temperatures depending on the work area.
  • Safety glasses, steel-toed work boots, and other required PPE must be worn as directed.
  • Gloves, ear protection, and additional PPE may be required based on the task being performed.

 

Physical Demands:

 

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, stoop, reach, twist, push, pull, and perform repetitive assembly tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and team lift larger or awkward materials as needed.
  • Must have the manual dexterity and visual attention needed to install wiring, handle small components, align sign faces, and inspect finished products.

 

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, electrical assembly, sign manufacturing, or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, measurements, drawings, production specifications, and basic wiring layouts.
  • Basic knowledge of LED wiring, electrical components, low-voltage lighting, or willingness to learn.
  • Experience stretching sign faces, assembling sign cabinets, or working with flexible face materials preferred.
  • Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and common assembly equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify quality defects, wiring issues, missing parts, and fit/finish concerns.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Reliable attendance, strong communication skills, and commitment to safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
