Registered Nurse – Part Time Day Shift – Special Procedures
Position Summary
The Radiology Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care in the diagnostic and interventional radiology setting. This role supports imaging and minimally invasive procedures by ensuring patient safety, administering medications, and monitoring patients throughout all phases of care. The RN collaborates with physicians, technologists, and ancillary staff to deliver high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the radiology environment
Perform pre-procedural assessments, including history, allergies, labs, and consent verification
Administer IV medications, including moderate sedation
Continuously monitor patient vital signs and response during procedures
Recognize early signs of patient deterioration and initiate appropriate interventions, including emergency response when needed
Ass-st physicians during interventional and diagnostic procedures (e.g., biopsies, drain placements, angiography)
Maintain a sterile field and assist with patient positioning and preparation
Provide post-procedure care, including recovery monitoring and discharge education
Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the medical record
Maintain and prepare equipment medications, and supplies for procedures
Participate in on-call rotation as required
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize workflow and patient outcomes
Adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to rapidly recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
Knowledge of sedation practices and emergency interventions
Familiarity with sterile technique and procedural workflows
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Licensure/Certifications:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
BLS (Basic Life Support) — required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) — required or obtained within 6 months
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferred
