Position Summary:
IT Infrastructure Support Specialists deploy and support the systems and technologies required by corporate, manufacturing, and distribution center users in a global enterprise environment. In addition to supporting all technology needs of Polaris employees, IT Infrastructure Support Specialists may also assist in providing local hands-on support for corporate tier 3 IS teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments (on‑premises and/or cloud such as Azure or AWS).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V).
- Knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity/access management tools.
- Exposure to ITIL processes (incident, problem, and change management).
- Hands‑on experience with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
- Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) for automation tasks.
- Experience supporting backup, disaster recovery, and high‑availability systems.
- Familiarity with endpoint management tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune).
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and vulnerability management.
- Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments (OT / shop‑floor systems is a plus).
- Certifications such as CompTIA (A+, Network+, Security+), Microsoft (Azure, Windows Server), Cisco (CCNA), or similar.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset with ability to diagnose complex infrastructure issues.
- Experience working in a ticketing system (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.) and SLA‑driven environment.
- Ability to support multi‑site or global operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of modern computer hardware, wired and wireless networking, handheld barcode scanners, IP phones, printers, and peripheral computer equipment required
- Advanced knowledge of Windows 11 Enterprise/LTSC, and Android/IOS operating systems required
- Experience configuring and maintaining laptops and desktops in an enterprise environment required
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- 4-year degree or equivalent experience required
- 2-3 years’ experience working in an enterprise helpdesk setting required
- Excellent business English communication skills, both verbal and written (Level B1/B2)
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and/or collaboratively with remote peers
- Communication and customer service skills required
Positions Overview:
The IT Infrastructure Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and supporting the organization’s core IT infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security of systems and services. This role provides technical support for servers, networks, cloud platforms, and end‑user environments, while troubleshooting issues and resolving incidents in a timely manner to minimize business disruption.
The position works closely with cross‑functional IT teams, including cybersecurity, applications, and operations, as well as business users, to support infrastructure needs across multiple sites. Responsibilities include managing system performance, supporting backup and recovery processes, assisting with system upgrades and patching, and maintaining accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations and changes.
Additionally, the IT Infrastructure Support Specialist contributes to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for automation, standardization, and optimization of IT processes. The role requires strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment, and a proactive approach to maintaining stable and secure IT operations.
