Job Summary
Shift: Tuesday-Friday 7a-5:30 pm
Driver is responsible and safety-conscious in operating the Mobile Health Units which provide medical services to underserved communities. The driver is responsible not only for safe transportation and setup of the mobile units but also for supporting the healthcare team including other entities of Population Health (MIH, RPM) with daily operations.
What you do?
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring the vehicle is in proper working condition.
- Ensure Chaser car is fueled, clean and in working condition.
- Ensure all signs, cones, tables, chairs and other equipment stored properly, and ready for transport
- Set up and secure the mobile clinic at each location, including leveling the vehicle, deploying stairs and/or lifts, starting generators/connecting power, and ensuring safety zones are established.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the vehicle, both inside and out.
- Coordinate with manager to ensure on-time arrival and operational readiness.
- Maintain accurate mileage and service logs.
- Monitor and report any mechanical issues, accidents, or safety concerns promptly.
- Assist in inventory management of medical supplies and equipment, as needed.
- Provide support to MIH and RPM departments during assigned hours (10am – 3pm)
- Interact professionally with patients and community members while upholding privacy and confidentiality standards (e.g., HIPAA).
- Document patient encounters in a timely and accurate manner; inform management of any issues.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and organizational procedures.
- Return to EMS HQ (refuel and flush water from mobile unit when needed).
What you need?
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years CDL Driving experience.
- Current CDL Class A or B License
- Acceptable MVR record
- Must possess a current, valid Georgia Driver's License and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record per department policy throughout employment.
- Must possess the ability to operate a motorized wheelchair van lift and other vehicle safety equipment. Must be certified or eligible for certification as a driver for Grady Health System.
- Prefer EMT/Paramedic background
