Risk Consulting is looking for candidate to join our Risk Advanced Technology team as Senior Consultant based in Rome for a hybrid role.
Risk Consulting is a management consulting firm that provides risk management services as part of Marsh Risk, a leader in insurance brokerage and head of the international Marsh Group, a group of expertise in strategic and management consulting, reinsurance, human capital, and investments (Oliver Wyman, Guy Carpenter, Mercer).
The Risk Advanced Technology practice develops innovative risk management services using advanced technologies (Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Process Mining, and Business Intelligence) to support leading public and private organizations.
We count on you to:
Apply advanced Machine Learning and AI techniques to predict phenomena under analysis across heterogeneous risk areas (e.g., financial risk, operational risk), detect fraud/anomalies, reduce processing times, and simplify business processes with a focus on intelligent automation
Design, develop, and validate financial models, particularly in Credit Risk (PD, LGD, EAD, Pricing, stress testing, ECL), in line with market best practices and major relevant guidelines and regulations (e.g., Basel framework, EBA Guidelines/RTS, IFRS 9, CRR)
Build Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics solutions for dynamic reporting, risk monitoring dashboards, and early warning systems
Support clients in developing integrated risk management frameworks and in the digital transformation of risk management processes
Contribute to the development of new proprietary solutions and methodologies within the practice (Generative AI applied to risk management, explainable ML models, process mining, etc.)
Manage the full project lifecycle: from requirements gathering and analysis, to modeling and implementation, through to go-live and client staff training
Mentor and coordinate junior resources within projects, ensuring knowledge transfer and high-quality deliverables
Interact with clients and all stakeholders involved in the projects, presenting results and strategic recommendations clearly and effectively
What you need to have:
Master’s degree or higher in Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Financial Mathematics, or related STEM disciplines, with excellent academic results
Proven experience in consulting projects with proven expertise in the following areas:
Technical skills (vertical) in one or more of the following areas:
Data analysis and modeling using Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Dataverse)
Machine Learning / AI: development of supervised and unsupervised models (classification, regression, clustering, anomaly detection), advanced algorithms (XGBoost, LightGBM, Random Forest, Neural Networks), implementation of Explainable AI techniques to communicate results to stakeholders
Credit Risk Modeling: PD/LGD/EAD, stress testing, Expected Credit Loss (IFRS 9)
Development in Python (e.g., pandas, openpyxl, scikit-learn, XGBoost/LightGBM, shap, etc.) and use of APIs for automation
Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) for building applications and dashboards
Data Management and Databases: advanced SQL (complex queries, optimization, stored procedures), knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
Management skills (horizontal):
Analysis of business and functional requirements: drafting technical and functional specifications, business cases, project documentation, managing client expectations and change management, ability to present results to C-level and non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively
Risk management (e.g., mapping and assessing risks, both qualitative and quantitative; process analysis and mapping; three lines of defense model; Model Risk Management; Financial Risk Management)
What makes you stand out:
Experience in delivering end-to-end solutions combining Machine Learning modeling, LLMs, and code-based solutions (e.g., Python) and/or low-code solutions (e.g., Power Platform)
Knowledge of the most widely used risk management frameworks (e.g., ISO 31000, CoSO Framework)
Knowledge of quantitative models in credit risk modeling (e.g., Merton, CreditMetrics, etc.) and the related banking framework (e.g., Basel framework, CRR, EBA Guidelines/RTS, IFRS 9, etc.)
Knowledge of advanced Data Visualization tools (Power BI, DAX, Qlik) and Data Management tools (e.g., Azure, SQL, SAS)
Knowledge of Generative AI applied to risk management (e.g., synthetic data generation, stress scenario generation, narrative explainability)
Knowledge of cloud platforms: Azure (Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks) or AWS
Relevant certifications (e.g., FRM, CRISC, Python for Data Science, Microsoft Certified: Power Platform, etc.)

What we offer:
The position is offered on a permanent basis.
We propose a gross annual salary starting from € 32.000 for a full-time position. Depending on experience, skills and qualifications, we are willing to consider compensation above the starting salary. Variable remuneration may be granted in accordance with company policy.
