This role is responsible for supporting the surveyor, focusing on physical staking and layout, and generating data files for GPS/UTS aided equipment.

Essential Functions
  • Owns personal safety by following all prescribed safety policies, wearing required PPE, and engaging in safe work behaviors.
  • Assists with daily surveying activities to meet defined goals, timelines, and quality expectations.
  • Communicates effectively with stakeholders to support dissemination of information across crews, sites, and partners.
  • Follows required policies, standards, and compliance requirements related to safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Generates data files and models to support construction layouts.
  • Transport, clean, and set up delicate survey instruments like total stations, GPS units, and data collectors.
  • Carry lath, pound stakes, paint markings, and hold the survey rod so the crew chief can align points.
  • Assist the team in checking that slopes, base materials, and excavations align with the design elevation.
  • Help interpret construction blueprints, shop drawings, and grade stakes to understand where infrastructure should physically sit on the site.
  • Record accurate field measurements, take notes, and help maintain daily activity records.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.


Education Qualifications
  • Required High School or Equivalent We value a combination of education, training, and hands‑on experience and will consider equivalent experience in lieu of formal education requirements.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
  • Routine movement around job sites, including walking, standing, bending, climbing, and navigating rough or uneven surfaces.
  • Work is performed in field, plant, or outdoor environments with exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and heavy equipment.
  • Work schedules may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended hours based on operational and project needs.
  • Ability and willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all site safety rules and procedures.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Position requires a balanced mix of office-based work and travel, including frequent travel to job sites within a local territory of up to approximately 50 miles and occasional travel to other project regions.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to travel between project sites, meetings, vendors, and other work locations.
