General Description:
This is for the 2026-2027 school year.The Business and Real Estate Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, standards-aligned instruction in business fundamentals and real estate principles. The teacher prepares students for careers in entrepreneurship, finance, property management, and real estate sales by combining theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.

Essential Job Functions:
Plans and delivers appropriate curriculum content to students
Provides students the opportunity to participate in Career and Technical Student Organizations
Plans, teaches, and assesses student learning on an ongoing basis and alters instruction to meet group/individual needs
Uses the curriculum of the district to plan daily instructional activities
Maintains order within the classroom setting in accordance with division guidelines regarding student behavior management
Supervises students in non-classroom time (before school, after school, student activities, and fire drills)
Collaborates with other faculty in planning and delivering instruction to students
Communicates regularly with parents
Ensures compliance with existing applicable federal and state statutes and local policies, regulations and guidelines related to public schools
Demonstrates commitment to improving professional competence
May perform other duties as assigned
Budgetary Responsibility:
Assists in preparation of budget.
Report Preparation:
Prepares reports on program effectiveness and student achievement, as requested
Equipment Operation:
Position requires operation of standard office equipment, and may require operation of equipment specific to the assigned area.
Contacts:
This position has daily contact with other teachers, as well as Instructional Assistants, School Administrators and other school personnel, and students. Contact with external vendors and agencies may be required.
Work Direction/Supervision:
This position does not supervise or provide work direction to others.
Decision-Making:
The employee performs the majority of functions independently under the guidance of building administrators, as well as CCPS policies and procedures.
Formal Policy-Setting Responsibilities:
This position does not have any formal policy-setting responsibilities.

The employee regularly works in a public school environment. The noise level is typically quiet to moderate.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and methodologies of instruction, learning theory, and teaching methodologies. Demonstrated ability to develop instructional goals for students. Demonstrated ability to prepare and monitor budget. Demonstrated ability to provide work direction to others. Ability to collaborate with other instructional personnel; ability to communicate instructional goals to others effectively, orally and in writing. Demonstrated skills in decision making, problem analysis, conflict resolution, interpersonal relationships, and planning.
Additional Job Requirements:
Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license or a Virginia Technical Professional License with an endorsement in the content area.
