Material Handler (3:30pm to 12:00 midnight)
As part of the Materials group, under general supervision, carry out semi-routine tasks in support of both the Materials Handling and Inventory Control functions. Works with clearly established procedures to perform duties.
Location: Ottawa, ON
Salary Range: $38,200 - $50,900 plus 10% shift premium

Your Challenge:
In Materials Handling, the focus is on the processing of material from the time it arrives in receiving until it is consumed in manufacturing. Tasks may include:
Processing material at count areas
Delivery of material to stockrooms, including verification and maintaining First-in-first-out policy
Perform variety of kitting and order picking functions
Maintaining policies and procedures, training others as required
Recommend process improvements
Perform Cycle Count activities
In Inventory Control, the focus is on maintenance of inventory accuracy, performing inventory counts and investigations, analyzing and resolving shortages, ensuring all transactions and documentation are completed in an accurate and timely fashion. This role is also responsible for the accurate and secure storage of finished goods. Tasks may include, but not limited to:
Picking kits and delivering raw and semi-finished materials to the production floor
Putting stock away in the warehouse
Preparing all related documents in strict accordance with current corporate procedures
Cycle count inventory
Resolving discrepancies, and recommending changes to processes to reduce future discrepancies
Maintenance of warehouse environment
What you Bring:
Generally requires some Secondary School education, and 2-4 years’ experience in a warehouse environment, or equivalent
2+ years of SAP
Material kitting and stockroom experience
Good computer skills
Strong team player
Ability to manage priorities
Accuracy and quality of work
Strong customer service skills
Good working knowledge of English
Ability to lift heavy objects (minimum 30 pounds)
