SUMMARY
Under general direction and minimal supervision, responsible for supporting the Community Pharmacy Manager in ensuring that their assigned pharmacy location maintains compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Dispenses medications and other pharmaceutical supplies using appropriate procedures to fill prescriptions issued by qualified prescribers. Consults with and advises medical and nursing staff, as well as patients, regarding information on medications, including dosing and monitoring drug therapy, drug incompatibilities, warnings and contraindications.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Minimum: Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science
Preferred: Doctor of Pharmacy
Credentials/Licensure
Minimum: Pharmacist license and controlled substance license issued by the Michigan Board of Pharmacy.
Related Experience
Minimum: N/A
Preferred: Experience leading projects or initiatives related to pharmacy process improvement. Success in roles leading projects, programs, or teams related to the area to be supervised.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum: Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Computer Competency
Familiarity with standard desktop and windows-based computer system, including email, e-learning, intranet and computer navigation. Ability to use other software required to perform essential functions, including Microsoft Office applications.
Physical/Mental
Minimum: Ability to use a computer keyboard. Sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time. Ability to work with frequent interruptions and meet aggressive deadlines. Ability to work independently and cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff.
