
Warehouse Associate- Forklift
Job Description
Position Summary: The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for accurately selecting, packing, and shipping finished goods or raw materials based on provided documentation. This role ensures timely and precise order fulfillment while maintaining inventory accuracy and a safe, organized work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Pick products using reach truck.
- Pick products using warehouse systems (e.g., SA AWS) in accordance with SOPs.
- Confirm correct items and quantities per picking ticket or other documentation.
- Pack and ship orders accurately and on time.
- Wrap, tie, or place materials in appropriate containers (e.g., boxes, envelopes).
- Label packages and prepare shipping documentation (packing lists, manifests, BOLs).
- Identify and handle hazardous materials safely and appropriately.
- Notify relevant personnel (e.g., supervisor, account manager, customer service) of any backorders.
- Is aware of and identifies hazardous materials and ensures safe and appropriate transportation of hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory control and participate in inventory counts.
- Process returned goods according to established procedures.
- Maintain required records of materials sent and received.
- Keep work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to accurately count and measure items.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Ability to identify and resolve basic issues related to picking and shipping.
- 1-2 years of forklift experience (reach truck, ride-on pallet jack, sit down forklift) (Must be able to pass Swiss American Forklift Certification Class.)
- 1-2 years working in a warehouse environment (FIFO, Product replenishment, shipping, using scan gun, etc.)
- 1-2 of experience in order selecting
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to pass a basic English comprehension test (5th-grade level).
- Experience with shipping systems (e.g., FedEx, UPS, internal WMS).
- Understanding of basic inventory and logistics processes.
- Experience in a fast-paced or high-volume environment.
- Deacom Experience
- Experience working with Amazon’s Vendor Central portal inputting order data.
