$101,000.00 - $162,000.00The compensation range listed is an estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on your qualifications including years of experience performing similar work, level of formal education in a relevant field of study, and any professional certifications related to the position.
Requirements:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct, supervise, and evaluate work activities of staff within the department including staff scheduling, timecard review, staff relations, performance management, and distribution of work assignments.
- Monitor staff and services to ensure the effective use resources. Work collaboratively with other department leaders to facilitate utilization of staff where needed.
- Maintain department resources and submit purchase requisitions as needed.
- Contribute to planning department meetings and activities, and actively participate in department meetings.
- Elevate the expertise and practice of department staff by promoting efficient, effective work practices and critical thinking skills. Identify training and development needs and collaborate with CNO to implement.
- Educate staff using appropriate teaching principles and strategies as well as current information, materials and technologies.
- Assist the CNO with staff relations including performance management, rewards, recognition, and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrate a commitment to a healthy work environment focused on professionalism and excellence. Provide support to staff to solve problems in the department. Provide recommendations to the CNO related to recruiting, hiring, promoting, transferring or terminating staff.
- Facilitate, coordinate and oversee the operations provided by the team, utilizing evidence-based practice (EBP).
- Communicate and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including medical staff, to anticipate and solve problems, balance workloads, and enhance the employee experience.
- Lead quality and process improvement initiatives within the department. Identify and promote new learning around changing patient safety standards of practice.
- Participate in policy and procedure development, review, and revision to improve patient outcomes and ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and partnership requirements.
- Participate in data collection and analysis.
- Competent in staffing the unit.
- Adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and established procedures to ensure a safe, compliant, and ethical work environment.

Working Conditions
- Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, or temperature.

Position Overview:
The Nurse Manager—Staff Development provides leadership and assumes delegated responsibility for oversight of day-to-day operations and personnel within the assigned area. This role uses independent judgment and discretion to manage personnel, support positive staff relations, and ensure efficient operations while remaining budget-focused.
