Welding Engineer

As a Welding Engineer you will join the Materials and Welding Team which is a part of the global TechnipFMC Core Technologies network responsible for providing the best in class Subject Matter Experts support for Oil & Gas subsea production worldwide. The Materials and Welding team provides expertise in materials engineering, welding, corrosion protection and NDT. 

This role will require working from the office 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

•    Acting as a global Subject Matter Expert in the welding area 
•    Writing and optimizing technical specifications in line with contractual documents and scope of work
•    Reviewing suppliers welding documentation (PQR, WPS, Weld Plan, Welding Books)
•    Supporting in-house welding activities – planning qualifications, technical support
•    Supporting engineering teams and ongoing projects with welding expertise
•    Continuous support of strategic welding suppliers to meet all specifications and to perform zero defect welding jobs
•    Introducing LEAN document management 
•    Developing requirements and internal standards
•    Performing technical audits
•    Participating in design meetings and reviews

Requirements

•    BSc/MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering or similar
•    Experience in welding engineer position
•    IWE certification (IWI certification will be an additional asset)
•    Broad knowledge about welding processes
•    Knowledge of industry standards for welding
•    Very good foundation of engineering and materials science 
•    Practical knowledge of MS Office 
•    Fluency in English
•    Good communication skills and team-player spirit
•    Willingness to travel occasionally
