About this Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Environmental Specialist to support environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and operational excellence across our facilities. This role ensures adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations while promoting a culture of environmental responsibility.
Responsibilities:
Monitor compliance with environmental regulations (EPA, EQB, local permitting agencies, ISO 14001, etc.)
Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and risk assessments
Maintain environmental permits, records, and regulatory documentation
Support waste management, hazardous waste handling, and recycling programs
Track and report environmental metrics (air emissions, water usage, waste streams, stormwater, etc.)
Assist with environmental incident investigations and corrective actions
Coordinate sampling, testing, and monitoring activities with internal teams and external vendors
Prepare environmental reports, submissions, and compliance documentation
Support sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement projects
Deliver environmental training to employees and contractors
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including EHS, Engineering, Operations, and Quality
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related field
2–5 years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, or EHS roles
Strong understanding of environmental regulations and reporting requirements
Experience with waste management, air/water compliance, or industrial environmental programs
Excellent documentation, analytical, and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and environmental management systems
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred for roles in Puerto Rico
